Data Integrity and Error Message.

Hi! I am hoping you can help me! I ran a data integrity check before I was going to switch over to a new year and it has detected an error. It is showing -$25,000 in A/R as well as $25,000 as cash to be deposited, on the balance sheet. I have looked everywhere to find this journal entry and can't find anything! I think it is from our HST Adjustment account but I dont see any entries in any of the accounts for this amount. What can I do to clear this from our balance sheet?

Thank you!!

    Hi

Are you in history mode?  do you see History option between Help and report?

Do you use foreign currency on A/R?

Are you looking at Integrity summary?  how many * consistence  (left is GL value , Right is SL value) is GL correct or SL correct?

need more information to able to help

    Hi Jason,

No, it doesn't appear that I am in history mode. I dont see the History option.

We do not use foreign currency.

Below is the window I get when I do a data check. Any insight?! I am so lost in finding this -$25,000 A/R Balance, which shows up on our Balance Sheet as Cash to be deposited. Thanks!

Not sure if these two screen shots will help but the $25,000 doesn't show up on our balance sheet on Dec 30 but does on Dec 31. I believe we located the discrepancy in the HST Adjustment account but I have no idea how to remove this. Please help!!!

    Hi Mbach2019:

For this amount to show up in your receivables someone must have unlinked the account and made an entry. In order for this to be cleared up we need to know where this entry came from and what it is for? Once we have this information adjustments can be made. Let us know so we can help you!

    Hope this helps!

    Hi

Your link account for A/R (in Setup, Setting, A/R , Link account (invoice) have linked accounts receivable with a General Ledger account with a value, where Subledger (invoice) is zero outstanding.

so you would have to check cash to be deposit and Account Receivable account , see if the 25,000 transaction are relate and can you void or reverse it.

    1. you can void or post reverse entry cancel both value in both account  or allocate to write off account (depends on which is correct)

    2. just change A/R link account to zero value chart of account (if you do not want to post any entry)

the ultimate goal here is to make Account receivable 's link account to have zero value (since you do not have any outstanding invoice on sub-ledger)

    Hi Jason,

Thank you for getting back to me and trying to help! I really appreciate it.

I have looked at the linked accounts for A/R but not sure what I am looking for - a screenshot is below. Insight?

I honestly have no idea what this $25,000 transaction is for and I believe someone made it in error but I can't find it anywhere! Why I try to pull up a general ledge of cash to be deposited 1020 account it doesn't show up there. Even when I look in the HST Adjustment GL it doesn't show up there either. Any advice on additional steps I can take? Thank you!!

So I just went through our A/R listing for 2018 (luckily we are small so there weren't a ton of transactions and its an even amount of $25,000).

I think I might have found the issue. it appears that this sale invoice was entered twice by accident. But when I go to click on J914 it says its not there. So I am assuming the person who incorrectly entered it tried to delete it. Its not showing up in their profile as an outstanding receivable.. so I am not sure if this is the culprit.. thoughts?

You could be right with J1159.
