Advancing to a new calendar year

We run Sage 50 Canadian. On advancing to Jan. 1st, I got and error message that "An error occurred while moving employees' year-to-date payroll information to last year. As a result, the new calendar year could not start." I tried the Advanced Data Check, but it found an error it was unable to fix.

How can I fix this. I found an article recommending that I delete historical data, and I did this year by year following their instructions. However, the problem persists.

Can anyone help??

I think would have to be looked into your data, do troubleshooting on different version, like Accountant ver.

Hi Rodrod,

Please follow the KB article link below and see if you are able to clear preivous financial history in chronological order or not. Remeber to do a backup first before you do so.

I can't advance into a new CALENDAR/FISCAL year - KB10234

Thanks very much for this, Keith. I had actually found this article, and systematically deleted the previous years in history. However, the problem persisted. I think that Sage is now willing to help based on point 2 of #2 in this article; I've sent the file to them.

Akhtar, thank you for your input. As you can see from the previous comment, Sage is looking at the file now. I'll see their response in a couple of days, I guess.
