Basically, Sage 50cloud allows for more advanced integrations and features such as the payroll module. You can still purchase a basic perpetual license (no need for a subscription) that you don't need to renew, at retail. Be sure to not need the payroll module though if you select that option.  Note that Sage Business Cloud | Accounting, (formerly known as Sage One)'s version available in Canada, now has most of the features of Sage 50's Pro edition. This means a lot more flexibility for the small business builder and entrepreneur.

What I was asking was if you could still purchase the regular Sage 50 and not the cloud program

Sage 50cloud at heart is still the classic desktop program which needs to be installed manually onto a PC. It connects to services online which is why the branding says cloud on it.
