Choose Contact to Send Quote To

SUGGESTED

Hi Folks,

I am trying to circumvent this issue:

We use Gmail so BV can be set up to send e-mails on our behalf.
I like how you can set up BV can e-mail quotes automatically after saving "Do you want to print a quote?" -> "Yes" -> automatically sends to Contact defined in Customer Details module.

I would like to be able to define what ContactPerson to send the quote to at the time of the quotation. Often times,  a customer will have more than one purchasing agent. To be able to select Contact#1, Contact#2 or Contact #3 on the quotation itself would be great.

Is this possible?

I am trying to avoid saving as a form, and then writing a new e-mail to attach....

Best regards & thanks in advance

    Hello,

For your customer(s) in the Address tab, the main e-mail address will appear on the left side at the bottom.  This is the main contact e-mail.  On the right side there are contacts #1 to #3 and can be chosen from the dropdown list.  Each one can have their own e-mail address.  In the Details tab you can specify the Quote to go to E-mail or Form and email then on the right you can specify to send it to Main email, Contact #1 email, Contact #2 e-mail, or Contact #3 email.

Hello, thank you for the reply -- you are absolutely correct in your explanation of contacts.

My issue is with the notion that customers often have more than one purchasing representative a company may quote.

    So,

    Contact 1 = [email protected]

    Contact 2 = [email protected]

    Contact 3 = [email protected]

There would be times when I have prepared quotes for either SuePurchaser, or TomPurchaser. I would like to be able to tell BV who to e-mail this particular quote to as the "single defined e-mail address for this customer" doesn't work for the majority of customer (businesses) who have more than 1 purchasing rep.

Hello.  I think I see what you mean.  Perhaps you can have the customer module open and have the Order Entry module open at the same time.  You can go to the Details tab of the customer and change the Quote to e-mail the alternate contact, send the quote, then perhaps change it back in the customer module.  This would be the best as you cannot change the e-mail addresses in Order Entry.
