Print a credit memo

This may be something simple I'm missing, but I cannot print a Credit Memo in the AR module. I can credit it, and it will show up on the customer statement, but i can't get it to print a copy of the credit memo itself. Is it a simple step I'm missing?
I process it by clicking the invoice, changing payment to Credit Memo, putting the details and saving.
I've also tried it by processing the CM as new and then linking the transactions.
Can anyone advise?

you need to reverse the invoice through order entry as a credit but in the AR account of the customer highlight the invoice in question.
Then click on the view invoice button, when the window pops up click on the copy button. When the next window pops up check the copy/reversing box, make note of the order number it will generate. Then go order entry and search for the order number and process the order as it should show as a credit invoice.

Thank you. How would that work if i'm only reversing a part of the invoice? For example. We had an issue with an item and were crediting a portion of the invoice back. I wanted to have something to show the client for the partial credit, but the invoice still printed the original one. The only way I can show it is an account statement.
