On Hold part number?

I'm having an issue with a part number in our inventory that won't switch back to Active from On Hold.

It is a regular active part and I'm not sure when it got switched to On Hold, but when I put it back to Active and save it, it still acts as if it's On Hold. I'm not able to add it to Purchase Orders to receive or the Order Entry screen, but I still can add it to an order on the Point of Sale screen.

Any insight or advice would be appreciated. I'm not super well versed in BV but any help you can offer would be great. Part number is quite active in our system so I don't want to lose our history of it.

Thanks for your help,

Britt

try exporting just the part number in question along with only the status. I use excel. then open it in excel and change the status and save and close it. then try importing it and see if the status has changed.

I've done a search of our active sales order and the part number does not come up on any of them. I then tried changing the status from on hold to active through the export/import method you mentioned. It did change the status but it still acts as if it's on hold.
I can't find it to export but when I run a Report for Committed and Backordered Inventory, I do get quantities displayed in excel under Order Qty and Backorder Qty. There were no order numbers or order dates displayed through Excel or on the Report.

try exporting the part and the quantities you mentioned which are at zero and import the figures as they are on the report. try to keep the status as active. try to see if you can issue a po after. if that works then bring it into your inventory. make sure there are enough pieces to cover the back orders and committed quantities. some where along the line either someone didn't cancel an order properly or there is data corruption. if you want to keep the order history for that part and nothing seems to work copy it and save it as the same part number with a period. make the old number inactive. that's all i can think of for you.
