I have created a JSON file for one of my clients. How do I migrate it to Sage Accounting?

    Hi  ,

Thank you for reaching out. It sounds like you're looking to migrate data using the Sage Business Cloud Migration Tool. If you're not seeing an option to import your JSON file directly into Sage Accounting, it's likely due to the setup path chosen during account creation.

    Here's how you can proceed:

    1. Reset Your Account Data: If you've already completed setting up a new company, you'll need to reset your account data to access the import option. Here’s how:

      • Go to Settings > Business Settings > Data Management.
      • Select Reset my Data.
      • Enter your email address associated with your Sage service and click Reset Data.
    2. After Resetting Data: Once the reset is complete, you'll be presented with two setup options. Choose Use your existing Sage 50 data. This option will allow you to upload your JSON file by selecting "Upload your file" and then "Continue with this data".

Please note, only the Business Owner of the account has the authority to reset the data. Also, the ability to import data as described may not be available in Sage Accounting Start or Accounting Standard. If you’re using one of these versions and wish to access this feature, you might consider upgrading to Sage Accounting.

For more detailed guidance on the differences between the Sage Accounting versions and how to upgrade, please refer to the relevant section for Canada on our website, such as "Differences between Accounting Start, Accounting Standard, and Accounting Plus".

If you encounter any issues during this process or have further questions, don't hesitate to reach out for more assistance.

    Warm Regards,
    Erzsi
