The help files indicate Original budget is for the current year only:

desktophelp.sage.co.uk/.../NominalBudgetsIntro.htm

Note: You can also enter an Original Budget figure for the budget this year, if you want to keep a record of the initial budget amount so that you can compare it against any changes to the budget.

However there's only one way to be certain, so, I'm currently backing up my database before I then run a Year End. I have a Nominal with a budget set for this year along with an original budget (I have noted the values for both). I have also setup a Budget for next year which will soon be the current year after the Year End. Once I perform the year end I will report back on what happens to the Original budget column in the current year.

I can confirm the budget value I entered for the Current Year +1 has now come through and populated the Budget this year & Original budget!
