Sage 200c Import Analysis Codes Against Stock Records

SOLVED

Hi All,

We are still fairly new to Sage 200. My Sage support company is closed for the weekend and I would love to get some help from someone, so I can work on this for Monday please.

How in Sage 200 can you add analysis code data? We are only using 5 out of the 20 analysis codes under stock records. I'd like to add another 5.

I found the below article, but this appears only to work for adding new stock codes. I would like to add analysis codes to stock codes that are already on our Sage 200 system.

I have a list of stock codes, analysis data 6 - 10, I would then like to import this.

I remember in Sage 50, it was as easy as having the stock code list, then a list of analysis code data and then running an import - That's ideally what I want here.

I'd be very grateful if anyone can help me with the above.

Thank you,

Nathan

    Hi Nathan,

Unfortunately you have already found the answer, it is not possible to update stock records via import, imports are mainly for creating new records/new transactions etc. (with exception of updating price bands)

Talk to your Business Partner they may already have an update routine developed or possibly look at an existing add-on in the market like Excelerator from Codis.

    Hope this helps,

    Paul

    SUGGESTED

    Hi Paul,

That's a shame, thank you for coming back to me though.

I reckon you could do it with SQL, but my SQL skills aren't good enough yet to risk trying it and breaking something else....

I'll have a look into Excelerator and talk to our Sage Business partner too.

    Thanks again,

    Nathan

    Nathan,

It can be done through SQL and I was going to mention it in my last post (but Sage don't recommend or support modifying directly in the db)

Although in more recent versions the Analysis Codes are simply text fields with no links like the older version Wink

So yes speak with your BP.
