Converting Purchase Orders to Sales Orders

Hi there apologies if these are an actual feature but I have done a bit of research and do not think they are.

We use SAGE in our premises and I have a few ideas which I feel would improve it massively.

The most pressing one being: the ability to convert a purchase order into a new Sales order or vice versa. I.e I sent a PO to a supplier for a project. A lot of the time this PO will be most of the project for our customer so if there was a function where it could convert to a sales order and then I select what customer for it would make my life 100 times easier saving a lot of time.

So a convert Purchase order to sales order tab -> select customer -> fill in as if a new sales order + have the ability to change prices naturally and to add some extra products

 

Other small things include;

  • Longer text box for part numbers. I realise you can put in longer bottom part but this doesn’t come up in stock list.
  • When amending a PO or Sales order you can’t view stock history or do anything other than amend said order.

Would be forever grateful if this was added

    --- Sales and Purchase Orders ---
    You cannot convert a Purchase Order into a Sales Order on Sage 200.
    This suggestion does appear if you search the Ideas Hub for “Ability to raise a Sales Order from a Purchase Order” and please add your comments and vote for it.
    (you can access the Sage Ideas Hub by clicking on the orange lightbulb top-right-hand-side of your Sage 200 Homepage after you have logged into Sage 200 )

    But you can generate a Purchase Order from a Sales Order if you have set up the data to allow it. Search for “ Create purchase orders from back-to-back sales orders ” in the Sage 200 Online Help to give you more details.

    ---The Part Number within a Stock Record---
    The part number (part no) field on a Stock Record is currently 40 characters. To have more characters would be a useful feature but would have to be logged as a new Idea on the Ideas Hub.

    --- Ability to see Stock Enquiries / History / Balances when amending a Sales or Purchase Order line ---

    Yes, it is only on the first form you see when you amend a Sales or Purchase Order where can you get further menu items to work like Stock Enquiries.
    So when you then amend each individual line, Edit Order Item Line, in Sales or Purchase Orders, the form you now have open will not allow for further menu access.
    You would have to return to the previous form to view Stock Enquiries.  This feature would need to added as a new Idea on the Ideas Hub.
