Sage 200 Self service web site externally.

Question

I have been asked to make the self service website available externally and while we have the self service website accessible internally (someone can open Sage 200 and select "Show Workspaces in Browser" 
 How does it handle the authentication if I make the local website accessible externally? The Sage 200 accounts are linked to Active Directory accounts. 
 I'm just not sure how it handles it. 
 Our setup is: 
 Sage 200 v12.00.0041 
 Sage database is installed on one server 
 Sage 200 application is install on different server along with the Self Service website. 
 I can sort out the firewall routing, just not sure how they login etc.
