Aged Creditors Report

SUGGESTED

Hi

Is there a way to run the aged creditors report (or aged debtors) for a specific nominal?

I am looking to identify the creditors at month end relating to stock (nominal 5010). i've tried but cannot seem to find a way to do this. if there is a report that would allow be to get this information without be having to review the nominal code each month and check for amounts sitting as a creditor.

Thanks

    Hi Anthea,

    Thanks for using Community Hub.

There isn't a report that does this by default, but it would be possible to edit the 'Aged Creditors analysis (Detailed) with Extra reference' report that is available in the Advanced Report Library > nominal code could be added to this report.

To look at this further I'd recommend logging a case online with our Report Design team >

Sorry if this is a silly question but is this still the case for Sage 200 as both links relate to sage 50?

Hi Anthea, my apologies, that would be for 50 Accounts as you rightly point out, I'll see if we can source a reply for Sage 200 for you.

    Hi Anthea,

I checked this with the Sage 200 Support team and they advised as below, unfortunately this isn't possible in Sage 200 because of the way the software works:

Sage 200 posts invoices as 1 transaction (no nominal code attached to this transaction) and then the relevant nominal transactions that make up the value of these invoices separately.

Due to this there is no unique link as a 1 to many relationship exists between the 2 data tables.

    Example:

    Sales Invoice = Net £100 / Vat £20 / Gross £120

    Nominal code 4000 = £50

    Nominal code 4001 = £50

    Vat Control 1100 = £20

    Debtors control = £120

    Hi,

As sage say there is an issue doing this because of the way sage posts to the nominal.  However we have done similar for a customer.  You can join the SLPostedTransactions table to the NLPostedTransactions table using the URN.  This will produce the result that Sage describe above,  however you can build in a filter to drop the Debtors account from the report.  This would then show as in the example above

    Sales Invoice = Net £100 / Vat £20 / Gross £120

    Nominal code 4000 = £50

    Nominal code 4001 = £50

    Vat Control 1100 = £20

    in the debtors report

You could also add criteria to the report to only show particular nominals but this would make the totals not balance.  ie if you exlude 4001 you would get

    Sales Invoice = Net £100 / Vat £20 / Gross £120

    Nominal code 4000 = £50

So the nominal total would be £50

You could also drop the VAT account if you wanted by adding this to filter on the report.

You should also be aware that results might not be accurate because of deferred and waiting postings so when running this report you would have to be aware of what you have asked it to do, and the pitfalls of doing this.

Like i said we did something similar for a customer, so it maybe you could engage with you business partner to get one written for yourselves, or approach the Sage report design team to build it as part of your free report service.
