Ability to set Fixed Asset Status to Inactive to retain record

Two separate customers have asked if it would be possible to set a Fixed Asset status to Inactive when it has been fully depreciated. Currently the Inactive status is used to denote a FA record that does not contain all depreciation details.

They would like the FA list to be an inventory of all assets ever set up and depreciated, retaining all records, so deleting them would not be an option they want to use.

  • Thanks Kate.  My company would like to be able to retain a record of all fixed assets in SAGE, so we don't want to delete assets .  If a fixed asset has a NBV of zero, it is currently not possible to dispose of it.  We have assets that have been fully depreciated and we are still using them and then at a later date we may dispose of them.  If SAGE allowed one to dispose of any asset, then perhaps a filter could be used to just view non-disposed of assets.  (An 'Inactive/Active' categorisation of assets could be another way of keeping all our records.)
