Delete Multiple Inactive Stock items

We have migrated from 50 to 200.     In 50 at year end we were able to run a report listing any inactive stock cards which following a clear audit trail allowed us to delete stock cards no longer used.    This is sensible housekeeping.  The only option I can find in 200 is to individually delete stock cards and there doesn't appear to be any procedure to highlight stock cards that should be made obsolete.

In 50 we were able to highlight multiple stock cards and bulk change attributes including change of status from active to inactive.

With over 8000 SKUS and growing this is a problem for us to manage going forward - and I don't understand why this like so many other excellent features on 50 are not available on 200.

  • Hi,

You make a number of good point here to up-vote.

    1. Sage 200 should have all the features of Sage 50 and more - not less.

    2. Deleting Stock Items is impossible.  Below I have an item i can delete - it has not been used - I highlight it, chose delete and have to re-type the product code in.  Not good.

Asa note, deleting a database item is just a flag.  Don't make is so hard.

My Sage 200 is loaded with items from the last 10 years we no longer make.

Furthermore, we cannot inactivate stock as we get:

We use Sage Manufacturing and it stops us making a product with a Bill of Material inactive.  Could the Bill of Materials be made inactive too?

A note to the forum - I have 3 issues here - do you want separate posts for each?  I don't want to be on a forum anyway.

  • Many thanks for adding this idea to Sage City.  Please vote and comment if you would find this feature useful.
