Sage 50 v30

SUGGESTED

After upgrading Sage 50 from version 29 to version 30, the Sage Drive is operating at a notably sluggish pace. The computer sends approximately 9MB of data after each posting I make in Sage. However, when the Sage Drive is turned off, the Sage runs fine. Please help.

    Hi Martin,

    Thanks for using Community Hub,

If you're seeing a general slow down across all performance, this may be related to the Analytics setting. You can turn off Analytics in Settings > Privacy > Clear the Analytics check box and Save the Settings. You would need to do this on each computer with Sage 50 Accounts installed.

If this helps, please click Verify Answer.

    Hi Andy,

Thank you for your prompt response and suggestion.

I followed your advice and turned off the Analytics setting in Settings > Privacy on all computers with Sage 50 Accounts installed. Unfortunately, this did not resolve the performance issue.

The slowdown specifically occurs when connected to Sage Drive. When Sage Drive is not connected, Sage 50 runs smoothly.

To further troubleshoot, I installed Sage 50 version 30 on an older computer running Windows 10, connected it to Sage Drive, and it worked fine without any performance issues. This leads me to believe that the speed issue might be related to computers running Windows 11.

Are there any known compatibility issues between Sage 50 version 30 and Windows 11, or any additional settings I should check on Windows 11 machines?

I appreciate your assistance and any further guidance you can provide.

    Best regards,
    Martin

    Hi Martin,

Thanks for coming back, I've checked with the relevant team and there are no reported speed issues for Win v11 / v30 / Remote Data Access. I'd suggest a call to Sage Technical Support so that they can look at this for you in a bit more depth especially since you can recreate the issue, you can reach them here : Sage Technical Support >

I hope they can get to the bottom of it for you.

You may like to check out the Remote Data Access is to be avoided at all costs post.

I cannot comment about RDA as we have a local server which is accessed from my desktop PC and when not at my desk I remotely log into my desktop PC (via a VPN) to access Sage..
