Can you produce a Purchase Order from a Sales Order?

Good Afternoon,

We are an online retailer and receive hundreds of Orders via our website.

Now we know we can purchase an integration from our Shopping Cart software into Sage to produce a Sales Order.

Is there an easier way of producing a Purchase Order from a Sales Order than just typing them all out from scratch?

I cannot use the shortfall button as we keep stock in for our shop downstairs but all our online orders go direct through our suppliers.

I'm trying to find a way to make our Sales Process quicker and more efficient.

As a sage user for more years than i wish to remember, we have been asking for a link between Sales orders & Purchase orders. It would save me hours of work if it ever happened.

Hi Barbara,

Thanks for using our Product Support Community.

The only way to create a purchase order from a sales order is to use the Shortfall option. However, as you know, this option only works for products where the sales order can't be fulfilled from existing stock levels.

You can log this as a suggestion to improve our Sage 50 Accounts software on our Ideas Community.

To log your idea select SAGE 50CLOUD ACCOUNTING and then New.

Once logged, we’ll be able to use your idea and help us to shape your Sage software. Other customers will also be able to vote on your idea.

Yes, it would save us hours & hours of work to and find it strange that it hasn't been introduced. Another user has sent me a link to this software www.adeptcom.co.uk/back_to_back_ordering.htm It is an additional charge but could be a solution in the short term.

I want a way to get this as well but only for items in a sale order that are due within a specific period as our orders can cover nearly a year of deliveries.
