Printing from Sage is very slow

Hi,

One of the computers on our network running Sage 50 Accounts Pro takes a very long time to print some reports. When previewing, say, an invoice, it takes around 2 minutes for the print window to pop up.

None of the other computers on the network using the same printer have this issue. Also, the computer that has this issue can print normal PDF files outside of Sage just fine.

Can anyone suggest what the best place to troubleshoot this is?

Hi Sharon,

Could you please select File > open > Demo Data and log in as Manager with no password.

Then test the printing in here and let me know if it has the same delay.

If it doesn't, it would suggest the PC's access across the network is the cause of this. However it is isn't, please try temporarily disabling your Firewall/Antivirus to see if this improves the speed.

Let me know the results of this and we can go from there.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes the practice data works fine just like on the other computers. Any way I can pin down the problem with access?

Hi Sharon,

This would indicate the problem lies with the network.

I followed the page you had linked me to and had a look at Article 18340. I have removed any extra printers in Devices and Printers but the issue still occurs. Can you help me troubleshoot this issue further?

Hi Sharon,

Did you follow the article I sent and completed all of the available steps including Antivirus etc?

If so, please try creating a new Windows user with full permissions and let me know if this helps at all.

Hi, I have the same slow printing Despatch Note (usually whilst the courier is hovering around outside!). I tried the Demo Date but it returned no data for the report on the DN. Am I doing something wrong or does it not let you print despatch notes on demo data to prevent fraud?
