Sage 50 Accounts v24 uses the Sage Accounts Data Service for v24, i.e. Sage 50 Accounts Service v24 and Sage 50 Accounts Control v24. Full info on how to install and run the Sage Accounts Data Service here.

Sage 50 Accounts v24 is compatible with all variants of Windows Server 2016, including Windows Server Essentials 2016.

An update on my answer to your query: Due to the limitations of the Essentials edition of the Windows Server environment, we now recommend that you run Sage 50 Accounts v24 on the standard Windows Server edition, rather than Essentials. This is because we've recently discovered that some Sage 50 Accounts v24 users have experienced issues when running on the Essentials edition.
