How do I clear a supplier credit note in Sage Instant Accounts?

SUGGESTED

I'm currently studying and I know how to clear a credit note from a Sales Return, but the course isn't clear about clearing a credit note from a Supplier's account.

I have issued the credit note to their account, and my course says to 'go to Bank - Supplier' to clear it, but Bank-Supplier isn't a button that exists. Is it Supplier refund? Supplier payment?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Matthew,

If the purchase credit note (PC) is outstanding and has been refunded by the supplier you must post a supplier refund. You can then allocate the credit note and supplier refund.

To post the supplier refund to reverse the purchase payment:

    1. Suppliers > Refund > complete the Supplier Refund window.
    1. Save > Close.

To then allocate the purchase credit and supplier refund:

    1. Bank > Supplier Payment > from the Payee drop-down list, choose the required supplier.
    2. Enter the date that you want to allocate the transactions together. This is usually the invoice date or the credit date, whichever is later.
    3. Click the Payment column on the PR > Pay in Full.
    4. Click the Payment column on the PC > Pay in Full.
    5. Save > Close.
