Merge two companies into one

Hello,

I have the task of merging two companies into one. We are incorporating the operations of one company into the other. Basically one side is online sales (B2C) and the other is business sales (B2B).

I want to take all the products, suppliers, invoicing etc from the B2B company and import it into the B2C company without replacing the data already there (Mainly just suppliers).

I have tried to export the products from the B2B Sage and import it but it doesn't carry over the activity.

Is there a way to do this?

thank you for the help :)

  • Hi Ben,

Sage Accounts can't import transaction allocations, therefore you can't import the transaction types SR, PP, SD and PD as part of customer, supplier and bank activities.

As a workaround, you can change the transaction types as follows:

    • SR - Change to SA.
    • PP - Change to PA.
    • SD - Change to SC.
    • PD - Change to PC.

After importing, you can then manually allocate the transactions.

Ask Sage article 20217 provides full information on how to export data from Sage Accounts.

Ask Sage article 24220 provides full information on how to import data into Sage Accounts.
