Historic Supplier accounts with nil balance but entries remaining, marked cash

I have several historic Supplier accounts with Nil balances. They have not been deleted when I have archived records because there are still entries on them. These entries are marked Cash and do not off set each other - often it is just one item. For example: "PP. 31/08/2000. Cash. Purchase Payment. 176.00" Can anyone tell me how to get rid of these items so that I can then delete the Supplier records please?
  • Hi Graham,

You can use the Clear Audit Trail option to remove transactions that meet a specific criteria, from supplier, customer, bank and nominal activities.

For more information on the Clear Audit Trail option, including the criteria that the transactions need to meet, please refer to Ask Sage article 11826:

If the transactions youâ€Tmre referring to aren't removed by the Clear Audit Trail you should check the linked transactions. To do this:

    1. Open Suppliers > select the required customer or supplier record > Record.
    2. Open the Activity tab > locate and select the transaction > the details area lists all linked transactions.

If these transactions have no linked transactions, they may be Linked Removed transactions.

A Link Removed transaction is a transaction that has been paid by another transaction that no longer exists within the data.

For full information on how to find and deal with Linked Removed transactions, please refer to Ask Sage article 14578:
