internal companies in sage instant

Hi, I use sage instant for a retail pharmacy business and it works really well. I don't use invoicing or stock control so the VAT management and end of your information for my accountant is our sole use. I've just bought another pharmacy within the same limited company but want to be able to differentiate sales, purchases and costs to review how each of them are doing. Is there a way to manage this in sage instant or do I need to upgrade and get department functions from a more advanced version of sage accounts? Bear in mind I won't use a lot of the advanced features, cheers for your help, James
  • Thanks for your post James. My colleague will come back to you with an answer as soon as possible.

    thanks, Melissa

  • Hi James,

You can use departments to group transactions and to monitor costs or assess the profitability of individual departments/shops/branches in your business. You can check these figures on a month by month basis as well as an annual basis.

Youâ€Tmre still able to report on your business as a whole too, as normal.

If required, you can change the name from Department to something more applicable to your company, e.g. Pharmacies:

    • Settings > Configuration > Custom Fields tab > Departments Label > enter the required title > Apply > Close.

To access the Department module, Company > Department.

The Department module is available in the Sage Instant Accounts Plus v14 and above, meaning you donâ€Tmt need to upgrade to Sage 50 Accounts and pay for features you wonâ€Tmt use.

If youâ€Tmd like to discuss an upgrade from Sage Instant Accounts to Sage Instant Accounts Plus, please contact our Sales team at [email protected] or on 0800 33 66 33. Their lines are open from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
