Adding Accumulated Depreciation to Fixed Assets

I have recently moved from an inherited spreadsheet fixed asset register to using the fixed asset register in Sage. Previously fixed assets and the accumulated depreciation were posted manually as journals.

Is there anywhere that the accumulated depreciation that has been posted manually can be added to the Fixed Asset Register in Sage? Currently when we're disposing of assets we're posting once in the fixed asset register and then a manual journal to dispose of the historical accumulated depreciation.

Can anyone help?

Hi Mark.

Thanks for using Sage City.

There wouldn't be a way to add the manual, accumulated depreciation to the fixed asset register.

Going forward though, you can use the fixed asset register to set it up from the start and post automatic depreciation.

Hi Mark,

Just wondering if you found a way around this? I have the same problem - accumulated depreciation over the years posted manually and need to add it to the fixed assets register to update it.
