Thank you for the link.
Are the settings 'global'? Th settings seem to be in order for me (both invoice and sales set to "product" as default)
otherwise, I'll have to wait for the staff in question to return to the office to check their settings.

I still need assistance with changing the service order to a product order.
The order number has already gone to the workshop so I can't draw up a new order on the system.

I think they are global but best check what your colleagues settings are.

You best do a web chat with Sage regarding whether you can change - my guess is you cant and that you'd have to create a new order and link the two together manually..

I wasn't aware of the default settings thing, so that was good to know.
As it happens it is a global setting.
