Any charities using ReceiptBank or AutoEntry with Sage?

SUGGESTED

Is anyone successfully using any kind of document capture software with Sage in a charity setting?  I'd really like to automate some processes and reduce paperwork but the charity fund code is essential and I can't seem to find out whether 3rd party software will cater for it.  Unfortunately Sage's own Capture doesn't!

    Hi Anita,

You can visit the Sage Additions and Sage Marketplace websites to see if any of our Sage Developer software suits your needs.

Thanks for responding, Paul, but I wanted to know if anyone had actually managed it in practice. The various add-ons all say they integrate with Sage, but the fund code field only appears if Sage has the charities option turned on, so it wouldn't necessarily have been considered by 3rd party developers. So far I've drawn a blank.

Sage itself doesn't cater for the fund code with any of its new developments so those of us who work with charities are being left behind. I really don't want to have to move to Xero but that's the advice I've been getting :(

    Hi Anita,

Sage now owns AutoEntry and the Sage 50 development team have begun the process of integrating this closer with Sage 50 for v26.3.

Would you mind expanding on what you want, is it just the case to allow postings to funds? If so in what area's / features? (I know File Import is a popular area)

Any feedback would be good and i can route it to the right team Slight smile

    Hi Ian

Yes, file import definitely, but anything that utilises the department number should also allow the fund code.otherwise to us it's pointless. I ruled out Sage Capture very quickly because of that so no idea whether or not it would be helpful. I trialled AutoEntry some months ago and found the only way it could use the fund code was if I set it up for QuickBooks instead of Sage, then exporting a csv file but doing that doesn't save time.

If your developers can improve on that it would be really good news.

And whilst doing that, please make it possible to hide old fund codes. We have loads of old restricted funds and it does get confusing trying to find the right one.

I'd be very happy to do some testing! Slight smile

    Thanks

    Anita

    Hi Anita,

Thanks for the reply and feedback.

I'll have a chat with my colleagues who are looking after the AutoEntry integration and see when they plan to improve AutoEntry as i believe phase one is just connecting AutoEntry via Sage 50 Accounts.

I'll also speak to the Product owner and give the feedback around the fund codes and some of the workarounds you're currently having to do and see if File Import is something we can easily change to start with.

I've captured your details to use in case a business analyst wants to contact you in relation to user experience / testing.

    Thanks again,

    Ian (Sage 50 Development Team)

    Hi Ian

Did you manage to find out anything about AutoEntry's plans to include the fund code?  I really need to decide whether it's worth waiting for AutoEntry or find a solution elsewhere.  Such a shame that all Sage's new developments leave charities behind.

    Thanks.

    Hi Anita,

We're looking to improve the integration with AutoEntry and sign up process for v26.3 but not changing the way AutoEntry works, however the AutoEntry team is different to the Sage 50 development team so they may have items that they're working on.

We don't have plans to add any extra charity features in the next release but since our last post the Sage 50 development team has identified some areas we can improve. I can't promise if or when they will be done but they're logged with the team as something to consider in the future.

Sorry I don't have any further information at this time, My colleague Dan does have your contract details for AutoEntry and charities in the future though.

    Thanks again,

    Ian (Sage 50 Development Team)
