The new location of the data, does it have the data service installed?

Your location of the data needs to be on a Windows operating system so if you've just moved it to a hard drive this won't work.

Hi Logan,

Sage 50 Accounts requires the data service to be running where the location of the data is. An external hard drive is unable to run Windows Services so you wouldn't be able to keep your data on this location, you'd need it to be on a Windows operating system.

Thanks to clarify this problem. Is there any way we can run the data from a nas drive?

As a NAS Drive doesn't support a Windows service you're unable to run it on a NAS Drive.

Hi Sean, I had the data service error on nine when other people ried to log in to access the sage from their pc's. Now I am usung an other laptop to hold sage date.

Would the V26 make any difference?

Hi Logan.

v26 would still require the data to be held on a compatible Windows machine. 

You can't have the data on any storage device such as a NAS Drive.
