Sage Backup Intermittently Working

I've got an issues with Sage where it sometimes runs the automatic backup and other times doesn't. Doesn't appear to be any reason why the backup doesn't run.

Does anyone have an idea of what to check?

I've already seen this page. Unfortunately doesn't help identify why this would stop and start working.
