Journal Entries

I'd like to know how other users record and reference their Journal Entries. Sage doesn't automatically give journals a unique reference only giving individual lines references. That is a prize pain in the rear when you are trying to find the "other side" of a journal. 

I was thinking of using the Extra Reference to record journal numbers so that in future journals can be tracked. Does anyone else do this? Any tips on journal reference formats?

Will I be able to search and report on transactions by this reference?

    You could always use the 'Reference' at the top left of the journal entry screen, which would mean you only have to enter it once, and not on every line.

    I find the reference field is easier to search for / filter or report on than the Extra reference.
