Allocate Stock to all products in BOM

Good afternoon,

I would like to be able to allocate all items in a BOM when I allocate the main product in a sales order.

For example I have a Master Product, which is made up of 5 parts. When I generate a sales order with 1Qty Master product and click allocate stock, I would like all the 5 parts to show as 1Qty allocated under "products and services". Once I generate a despatch note and the order is complete, all 5 parts will be deducted from stock.

Is this currently possible in Sage 50? Is there a workaround anyone can suggest?

As I understand right, you first need to stock transfer the component to create the 10 master products before you can allocate them to the order, so you essentially deduct them from stock at the start of the process. Then you allocate the 10x master products to the order which are taken out of stock when you complete/ship the sales order.

If I've misunderstood, sorry about that, I'll let someone who knows what they are talking about answer.

You're correct Ross. and @JamesCox

Use the Stock Transfer option for the Master Items - this will 'move' stock from the components and make them available to the Master Item. Then allocate the Master Item(s) to the Order.
