Sage 50 Accounts server installation issues

We have tried to download the Sage 50 program on our company server and it is saying the following.

'Your computer uses an operating system which is not compatible with this software. Supported operating systems: Windows 8.1 / Windows 10 (build 1607 or higher) or Windows server equivalent.

Our server specifications are Edition:- Windows Server 2019 Essentials. Version 1809.

This is so annoying when we need to have real time lie information.

Can anyone help with this what the work around is please.

If you use Office 365 with Exchange in the Cloud (whatever it is called this week), there is no need for most small businesses to have a server

Just install your data on a PC and share the data folder. Change your company files to point at this location and then do your upgrade. Sage is perfectly happy not being on a server.

I believe that it is Microsoft that is to blame rather than Sage

Hi...

The latest versions of Sage need something called the data service on the server for it to work - that needs to be placed wherever the data it.

Windows Server Essentials 2012 / 2016 / 2019 and Small Business Server 2008 / 2011 (sage.com)

Yes. But it does not require a server operating system. The services are installed automatically on every Sage client

To clarify, install Sage on the PC you choose to hold the data. You can choose whether or not to use this machine for data entry
