When we open up any date generated list (Suppliers / Customers / Activity / Communication etc) the default date range that appears in 01/01/1980 - 31/12/2099. For some of our older and more active accounts this results in a huge amount of data being returned. Yes, we can narrow this down by entering custom dates but the data still has to load in the first place. Does anyone know how we are able to change the default date range?

As it happens it isn't actually fixed, rather it is set in the criteria within the report. The problem is that the 'advanced settings' for criteria are not enabled for Sage 50 Accounts. If it was the default dates would be available to set:
Definitely worth submitting an idea to enable advanced criteria for Accounts.
