You would need to create a formula to be the Year value of ech transaction then create a group using that value. This will create a group header and footer which will allow subtotal fields

That's brilliant thank you.... I've now got yearly totals showing.  Can you assist with getting just the year to show where I've circled?  They are the year totals for the whole of 2019 but it seems to be pulling a random invoice date.  Thanks in advance for any help 

Yes you have invoice.date printing. You can just replace this with the expression you used to group by

I can't get it to work now unfortunately, my report is showing no data.
