Run Report against currently selected product

SOLVED

In Report Designer, how do you design a report that runs solely against a Stock Product that is highlighted in the Products and Services list ?

    Hi Dave

I have often wondered about this. The conclusion I came to is that Stock Code in the product table must be the first criteria. I have never found  the answer in the knowledge base so would be delighted to know if I am correct!

I had a report recently that ran against the highlighted product(s) and didn't know how to stop that.  A Community Hub member said it was because I had a disabled Criteria in the report.  Once I deleted the Disabled Criterea, that successfully released the report to run against everything, even if a Product was highlighted in the list.  Unfortunately, I don't know how it was set up to begin with.  It is something to do with Criterea setup, I'm sure.

I tried setting up a Product Code Criterea and then disabled it but it still brings back everything in my new report.  I've also looked at other reports that do what I want and I can't see anything obviously different that I can copy.

I think s observation is correct. I just highlighted a product and ran the Product Activity report and only that product's transactions were displayed. I checked the Criteria and Stock_Code was Enabled and is first in the list.

I may be misunderstanding the reply here, so apologies if that is the case.

I have tried Stock Code set to Enabled and the report asks for a specific Stock Code or range (defaulting to everything). It then brings back all stock codes, not just the one I have highlighted.

You are correct that in the Activity Report mentioned above, you can ignore the criterea range pop-up and the report only brings back the Stock Code that is highlighted in the Module list.  Unfortunately, that factor alone doesn't work with my report.  There must be some other underlying factor that isn't in my report.

It was weird that I had to delete a "Disabled" Criterea in my other report to stop it selecting only the highlighted one.  I just can't get it to work the other way round.

Set the "Criterion name" to STOCK_CODE will pick up your selection,
