Hello! This is more of a "knowledge share" than a question, and a bit of shameless self-promotion! I appreciate I am walking fine line between "helping" and "advertising" here, but I really feel this is a bit of a game-changer.
After years of being frustrated at the reporting I could get natively out of Sage 50 (and the static nature thereof) I decided to do something about it; I have created a "live" model which pulls data directly from Sage 50 into Power BI (which is not an expensive product) and means that I can now get at reports that are not available "natively" in the product - for example:
"Live" profitability by invoice based on actual cost (not last cost)
Proper "FIFO" stock listings (not last cost / average cost)
GRNI (goods received not invoiced)
Retrospective stock reporting.
Basically if the information is in the system I can get it out, creating both "top-level" dashboards but also genuinely useful reports that can be accessed via web browser and pulled directly into Excel.
I have posted some video demos on my website www.pcm-analytics.co.uk
There is a direct link to my video on live profitability here: https://vimeo.com/926662363/fe8173a55f
Thanks,
Phil
