Thanks for using our Product Support Community.

When installing Sage 50 Accounts, the following message may appear:

'Error 1923: Sage Data Service could not start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges.'

This can occur if you have insufficient privileges on the computer, or if the Sage Data Service is marked for deletion. 

1. Restart the computer and log in as an administrator, then retry the install.
2. If the issue persists, press the Windows key + R, enter services.msc then click OK.
3. Look for the Sage 50 Accounts Service and note the exact name, for example, Sage 50 Accounts Service v23.
4. Close the Services window, press the Windows key + R, enter cmd then click OK.
5. Enter sc delete [service name you noted] then press Enter.
6. Enter Exit then press Enter.
7. Restart the computer and log in as an administrator, then retry the install.
