Using MTD where there are some EC transactions

Hi. We have received notification from HMRC to that we can join the MTD pilot scheme. However, we have a few EC transactions (eg monthly Microsoft subscriptions) which are invoiced (in sterling) from EC (Dublin). No VAT is paid. We are running Sage 50cloud, version 25.0.76.0

HMRC's Notice "Use software to submit your VAT Returns" says that you are not eligible to join the pilot if you have EC transactions. I sent an enquiry to HMRC about this, but only received a generic reply that didn't address the EC issue.

Is Sage, or are folk here aware when it will be possible to use MTD to file VAT returns when there are some EC transactions ?

    Paul,

    Thanks - that's great. I thought it was something fundamental about MTD that couldn't handle EC transactions, which would be awkward. But from what you say I assume it is just that I can't join the trial. I suppose I'll just have to trust that it works ok come April ! Though after 29th March - who knows ?!
