Before using the CIS module and making submissions online to HMRC directly, I was able to view receipts for successful submissions. I have used the CIS module to make submissions since 2020 and until recently haven't needed a receipt. However, following an audit by HMRC, one of our clients which is a huge company, has been asked by HMRC to go a step further with due diligence and request the most recent VAT submission receipt and the most recent CIS submission receipt from each supplier before any further business can be transacted. The VAT receipt was no problem through Sage but apparently CIS receipts cannot be viewed retrospectively. Can this be rectified particularly if HMRC are making these recommendations now?
