Sage 50 Accounts - Version 29 - Set up my Accountant to have Remote Data Access

SUGGESTED

I wonder if anyone can help me.

On the 23rd Jan 2024, after reading the instructions, I set up our accountant to have Remote Data Desktop access to our SAGE accounts so she can look at our accounts in order to perform end of year accounts etc.

She did get an email from SAGE regarding connecting to the Remote Data  and she installed v 29 of SAGE as per the instructions but had not got around to doing anything with the instructions. A couple of days later, on 24th Jan 2024, I had to perform a restore of data from a backup file prior to the 23rd Jan , the date that II had set the Remote Data access up.

When I tried to set up the Accountant again with remote Data Access after the restore, it just would not accept her details, I was stuck at the authorising stage, it appears to be stuck in a loop of having to add my companies username and password again and again and again to authorise but never gets past this.

I was wondering it in the background somewhere SAGE still has the Accountants email address stored  and so it appeared already set up.

My aim is to try and set her up the Accountant again so she gets a fresh email with all the login details etc as her previous email  from SAGE  do not work.

I have even tried restoring the data back to 23rd Jan where I initially set her up with  remote data access to see if I could delete the Remote Data Access and the Accountant as a User to see if this would clear the issue but this will not delete either.

We are a very small charity and we do not have the telephone support from SAGE just web chat support but I am getting no where with this. CAn anyone help ?  I think I might be able to set the Accountant up so that she has Remote Desktop access if I use a different email adrress ( ie maybe one of her colleagues email address or her personal email address) That might work.

It feels that in the background SAGE needs to delete her email address so I can start from scratch.

Any help would be brilliant.

Thank you so much

Sarah
