Agreed this is needed urgently.  May we suggest that a field for Northern Ireland EORI is given as well.  TSS (Trade Support Service) membership may also be useful.

We have 3 EORI numbers - UK, EU and XI for N.Ireland.  At the moment I can pick up the EU EORI as I have entered it under Credit Ref in Company Preferences but I don't know where to enter the XI EORI! New field required for customer EORI is urgently needed - at the moment I am using Analysis 1 in Customer Record Defaults.

Hi Laura Collier the reason I mentioned Romania was that we have validation per country and that's the first one i saw that used 8 digit VAT Numbers.

I can see an outstanding issue around certain 9 digit Irish VAT Numbers. I've added a note to that bug to refer to this post about 8 digit numbers.

Depending on where you are and what you use the program for you can turn the validation off so the number is accepted >> VAT - 'The format of the VAT Number entered is invalid for the selected country' - UK (sage.com)
