Supplier part number too short at 16 characters.

The supplier part number is too short, some component part numbers are much longer, e.g. GRM32ER61A107ME20L or longer.

I use my internal part number as the product code, which links through to CAD and design tools so this is different.  I can change to a different supplier and part should I need to.

Ideally, it should be at least 30.
