Yes you will still need to process the year end in Sage 50 Payroll, to inform HMRC that you don’t have any more payroll periods to run for the tax year.

Hi Paul, It seems that when i try to run the 2016-2017 year end it pts the reports date back to 2014/15 year.
The year ends where complete up to 2015-2016 year but cant do any more

It will help if you change the view to show you the steps it will be easier to follow the steps and you can change the date on the first box to the year you want to do the year end. I hope this will help. regards

Hi Sarah,

In Sage 50 Payroll, when using the Choose Tax Year option in the payroll year end process, the 2017/2018 tax year might not be available.

This occurs if you haven't paid an employee for one or more tax years, since completing your last payroll year end.

As a workaround, you must create an employee record then process a 0.00 payment for each tax year that is missing. Full info on how to do this here.
