E-Banking in Sage Instant Payroll

To help save time and improve accuracy when paying your employees, you can use the e-Banking option within Sage 50 Payroll and Sage Instant Payroll.

With e-Banking, after you’ve updated your payroll you can create a single payment file for all of your employees which can then be uploaded to your online banking software. You can then check the figures are correct before making the payment directly into your employees’ bank accounts from your computer.

The benefit of e-Banking is that you save time entering individual payments through your banking software, and mistakes are minimised as the payment values will always match your payroll software

  • hi, can the payroll ebanking be set up so that the payment is confidential?  We use Coutts bankline and when making payments i have the option to make a payment list confidential so that salary payments cannot be seen by others with access to the online bank statements.

  • Hi Emma,

The e-Banking module in Sage Payroll creates payment files, which you can then import into your banking software. This enables you to make payments directly to your employee's bank accounts from your banking software, using the information imported from the Sage e-Banking file.

The settings applicable to your salary payments are made in your banking software, e.g. Coutts Online, not your Sage Payroll software. However, you can amend your access rights settings in Sage 50 Payroll to enable and restrict access for the users you have set up, although these settings apply to your Sage 50 Payroll company data as a whole, not just the e-Banking section.

  • Hi Angela,

The e-banking facility in the Sage Payroll software produces an output file containing details of all payments due.

You would  then need to be import this file in to your online banking software, there is no payment processed within Sage itself.
