Payroll year end FPS

SUGGESTED

SAGE help on PYE says I submit my final FPS as part of the year end process.  HMRC's 'annual reporting and tasks' says I tick the Final Submission box on or before the last payday of the tax year.  Which one is correct?

    Hi Victoria,

The last full payment submission (FPS) and/or employer payment summary (EPS) of the tax year aren't your final submissions as they don't include your End of Year declarations.

This is why when you make your last FPS and/or EPS of the tax year, you're not prompted to state that it’s the final submission and is also why the Final Submission for Year box shows No.

The final submission of the tax year is actually the Internet Submissions step of the Payroll year end procedure. This is automatically flagged as the final submission.

You'll find all of the help and support needed to run your year end at our Payroll year end support site: www.sage.co.uk/PYE

Thanks for confirming. HMRC's help contradicts the SAGE process so wanted to be sure.
