Sage version query

My Sage Payroll 50 keeps wanting to install a version of the software that is older (V22.00.066) than the version I have installed (V22.00.075). Can anyone explain why this is happening?
  • Hi William,

Are you getting any messages prompting you to download/install updates?

When do they appear and, what's the full message?

    Thanks,

    Brian
  • When I log out of Sage Payroll 50 I get a message asking for administrator permission. As I don't have that access I click on no. We only updated the payroll software on 11/5/16.
  • Hi William,

What's the full message(s) that appear?

    Thanks,

    Brian
  • Brian, I have attached a copy of the message I get.
  • Hi William,

This is User Account Control (UAC) which is a security feature that was introduced in Windows Vista. UAC allows administrators to run as standard users whilst still allowing them to perform administrative tasks.

For full details on UAC, click here

When does the software prompt you to install 22.00.066? What is the full prompt that appears?

    Thanks,

    Brian

  • Brian,

When I clicked check for updates to see what I was being prompted to install, it says:

Updates available to install... Sage 50 Payroll - v22.00.066. Please close all Sage software and ensure all other users are logged out of Sage Payroll before installing this update. File size 371MB Update: Sage 50 Payroll - v22.00.066. Please close all Sage software and ensure all other users are logged out of Sage Payroll before installing this update. File size 371MB Details...
If you Install Now, Sage Software will automatically exit and you will be prompted to save any open files before the updates are installed.

However when I click on the more detail button it looks like this is the year end update. I then clicked on help/ about to check which version I am running and it says I am running V22.00.075.
  • Thanks William,

The version that you're currently using, v22.00.075, is the latest version.

As the software is prompting you to install 22.00.066, there must be an old file in the SBD Software Updates folder.

To resolve this you should rename the SBD Software Updates folder:

    1. Windows key + E > browse to C:\Program Data\Sage
    2. Right-click the SBD Software Updates folder > Rename > enter a new name, such as SBD Software UpdateOLD.

You can now open your Sage 50 Payroll software and continue without these prompts reappearing.

    Thanks,

    Brian
  • Brian,

Thanks that seems to have sorted the problem.
  • You're welcome William :)

  • Thank you - it worked for me as well!
