Sage 50 Payroll can't find the new update

We've received an email and a message in Sage that the new update is available to install, but when we search for updates using Sage 50 Payroll it can't find any. Currently, we have version 20.02.203 running.

I fear it's a symptom of a deeper underlying problem - when I downloaded the update manually from the website and installed it, it crashed upon trying to open the software. In the end I was forced to uninstall and go back to version 20 to run February's payroll, as the new version refused to run at all. What could the problem be? Even completely uninstalling Sage from the computer and doing a fresh install of version 21 isn't good enough to let it run. I can get past the log in screen, but then the programme simply stops responding, no matter how long I wait. Version 20 works well enough (albeit somewhat slowly) but no version 21 I can find will run at all!

    You can download the Sage 50 Payroll year end update from our website. This is the latest Sage 50 Payroll software and will update your version number to 21.01.298.

    To download this:

    1. Visit www.sage.co.uk/PYE then select Sage 50 Payroll.
    2. Select Download year end update.
    3. Enter your email address and password then click Login.
    4. Once logged in, select your account then select Download.
    5. Click Save, then from the Save As window, browse to the required location, for example, your Windows desktop then click Save.
    6. If the Download complete window appears, click Close.

    Once you've successfully downloaded Sage 50 Payroll for tax year 2015/2016, the file sg50payrollpye15.exe will appear in the location you chose when saving the file. You should double-click this file to install the update.
