Backup after the recent update

SOLVED

Hi,

After the recent update my backups take very long and doing this for multiple clients can be time consuming, I believe this is due to the backup performing a back up of everything.

I cant seem to remember what from the list below what was unselected prior to the update, but the backups before where a lot faster and had everything important backed up in the event of a rollback.

Please let me know from the list below what I don't necessarily need (or anything not important) for a backup:

  • Default files
  • Data files
  • RTI files
  • Pension data files
  • Picture files
  • Report files
  • Template files
  • Document files
  • JRS Files
  • Online service files
  • Employment verification files

Note that I am using the desktop version of payroll.

Thanks

    Hi,

Thanks for using Community Hub Slight smile

The default backup files are: Data files, RTI data, Pension data, Document files, JRS Files, Online services files, employment verification files. I'd advise using these and deselect the others.

For a bit more detail, the most often used ones are:

    • Data Files (this is the PAYDATA folder containing the database for the company, i.e. all employee data, company details, processing history etc)
    • RTI Files (submission data including the actual FPS/EPS submission data and the submission log data)
    • Pension Data Files (if you use send pension data this logs what's sent and your settings)

If you store documents for the company or employees in payroll it's a good idea to back these up too.

If you have any custom reports it's best to back these up routinely, for example monthly.
