NI verification

SOLVED

I am on version number 30.00.226 in Sage 50 payroll and the National Number verification is not working. Any suggestions please or is this a recognised fault?

    I'd like to look into this a little further for you, can I check whereabouts in the software you are working, and what the problem looks like, are there any error messages or is it just not responding?

    I am using under e-submission, the NI verification task. The task seems to be transmitting but after sending at least 8-9, I am not getting electronic replies form HMRC with either an NI number or even that they have received my request and the NI number is correct. It's over a few payrolls as well so cannot narrow it down to just one specific payroll. That's why I though something might have gone wrong in the update and wondered if anyone else was having this problem.

    Thanks Carole, I would suggest speaking to HMRC about this, we need to establish if HMRC are not replying, or if there is no response if the NINO is correct. 

    In the meantime, I'll leave this thread open in case anyone has experienced the same issue or if indeed they're receiving replies.

    We always get a reply from HMRC whether the Ni is correct, needs changing or nothing on their records. They haven't replied at all since we updated. I will have a look at a submission and give HMRC a ring to check with them.

    Hi, I sent 4 NI verification tasks to HMRC yesterday. 2 from separate clients and 2 from one client. I have had no response, either from the online gateway or my IR Secure Mailbox on all three payrolls. I think this proves that there is an error in Sage payroll.

    I Have contacted HMRC Online Services this morning to ask if they can confirm my NVR request has reached them through my Sage payroll submissions. I have been sending these requests at least one week before the tax year end and they now say that they can only check their system if we have submitted either FPS or EPS submissions. They cannot check if NVR submissions have been received and we must wait for the NI numbers to come through. Unbelievable!
