You could create a deduction to take the unpaid carers leave off the salary amount.

If you already have a suitable deduction set up, you can follow the guide above to assign it. If you need to create a new deduction for this, take care to set the pay element correctly - for example whether it should be deducted before or after tax, NI or pension are calculated. If you're not certain how it should be set, contact HMRC to check this before processing the deduction.
