HELP: Programme Closing

SUGGESTED

Hi

Our sage 50cloud payroll keeps randomly closing. Noticeably when doing anything pensions related: running the assessment, generating letters, data files etc.

Any ideas?

Our Iris Hosted support have said its nothing on the server so must be sage update...

    Hi Tracy,

Thanks for using Sage City Slight smile

I notice this query hasn't had a community response.

Issues such as this are caused by either an issue with the:

    • Installation of the program
    • The data for your company/companies
    • The environment your software is set up in

If you haven't already done this, I'd advise you download and install the latest software update which is the year end update - v29.00.239. You can access the download file and installation instructions on our download and install Sage 50 Payroll guide. Please take care to use the Run as administrator option as mentioned in that guide.

If the issue persists after a reinstall, use the database utility included with your software to repair your company data.

After this if the issue persists there may be environmental factors involved. The first thing to check is whether there are any Windows Updates pending on your computer. If there are, save all work and install these, then restart your computer and test payroll again. If your IT support normally help with Windows updates do let them know so they can assist with this.

To double check that the server isn't part of the cause, you should copy this to your computer's C drive, and check if the issue still occurs.

If this resolves the issue, move the data back to it's original location and ask your IT support to troubleshoot the data location, as something is preventing Sage 50 Payroll from working correctly.

If the issue still persists, the next step would be to refresh the Microsoft .NET framework and reinstall payroll.

We also have an environmental issue guide that you could provide to your IT support if any further troubleshooting is required.

    Hi Tracy,

We are also having this issue...as are others...

    https://www.sagecity.com/gb/sage-50-payroll/f/general-discussion/197534/sage-v29-update-crashing

I've had our IT company working on this for weeks.

Just wish Sage would hold their hands up and fix the issue.

This many people can't have the same problem and it be "Environmental Issues".

    Hi Sharon,

Are you using Sage Accounts too? It's a while ago now, but I seem to recall we ended up having to uninstall and reinstall Sage Accounts. Way above my skillset but I seem to recall Accounts and Payroll share some .dll files. The issue was not with Payroll per se but with Sage Accounts. Once we had done this it was much better. It's still not 100% to this day but we can live with it.

    Thanks,

    Mark
