New starter added but now unable to enter payments

Question

Hi there 
 I have processed a new starter with a P46. I was able to process the first week, however now when I go to Enter payments for the next week I am getting an error message saying to deselect the employee. 
 Please can you advise as I am really struggling to work out what needs doing?

Hi Charlotte,

Thanks for using Community Hub.

This suggests that you may have set them up as a monthly paid employee rather than weekly? You could possibly confirm this by checking the details on the P11 report to see if the National Insurance bands look like monthly bands rather than weekly bands.

If the employee is set up for monthly pay in error, you would need to roll them back and re-process them as weekly.
